Hi,
I'm new to the Forum. I hope you can help. I just bought a 2016 N connecta 1.2 auto. I love the car but feel like I'm getting very low fuel economy. I filled up the tank and it's showed that it would do 400 miles which seemed low. I've now refuelled and it's showing only 300 miles. End of each journey is showing around 24 mpg. To be fair, this is mostly town driving with stop starts etc and AC on but I still feel it's really low. Any suggestions? The car is still under warranty so should I show it to the dealer? (The previous owner recently serviced the car through an independent garage). |

In addition, Eco mode has been on throughout.

The 1.2 l engine has to work heavily in order to accelerate and move the weight of the Qashqai - the heavier an engine has to work, the more fuel it consumes....
Easy as that.... |

Thanks, I looked at a lot of reviews and most people were getting 35-40mpg in urban environments. 24 mpg seems really low.
https://www.parkers.co.uk/nissan/qashqai/station-wagon-2014/12-dig-t-n-connecta-(comfexecutive)-5d-xtronic/specs/ Parker's mentions 605 miles per tank. I'm surprised that's it's 50% of that. |

I will interested in this one,
We are considering the 1.2 Auto as my preferred engine of 1.6 is only in Manual Box. Any experiences of mpg on the 1.6 petrol. |

In the German Qashqai forum there are lotsa complaints about the fuel consumption of the 1.2 l engine. The people bought the car due to the low consumption values on paper. The (old) tests on the roller type test stand were done mainly in the partial-load operational range. The engine, however, has to work mostly in the full-load operational range in real life/on the road... The new WLTP test ought to give results which are nearer to real life conditions... |

Hi ![]() The reviews are pretty much spot on. My BEST so far is 50.5, which is what Nissan boast as COMBINED ![]() I didn't choose the 1.2 for the mpg, but because I wanted auto and didn't want diesel. No other choice at the time. |
