Hi Folks

Nice to be back!!

Taking ownership of a new (pre reg) 1.6 Digt Tekna tomorrow after being with a Juke since 2010.

I have done a search but canít see anything that would let me know if there any known issues to be wary of?
I did see someone saying the new QQ is pants in the snow? Donít know if thatís due to the 19í wheels?
Itíll be nice being back in a QQ after years away.

Any advice , as always, appreciated. Hope youíre all well.

nice to see you back,
i have now owned a 1.2 tekna for 17 months, before i had two qqs and a xtrail and had no problems at all,
but have to say with the snow we had last year this has to be the only car i have had trouble with in all of my years of driving,it was that bad i had to take my son with me to pick my wife up one night and on a 5 mile journey he had to get out three times to push.
obviousley down to 19inch tyres(some sport type).
ps.birmingham is forecast for snow tonight.not looking forward to going to work at 16.30 in the morning.
apart from the snow, no problems at all for me.
qqvisia,qq360,xtrailntec,now qq tekna,gun metallic,side steps,wind deflectors,mud flaps,nice car.

Hi pal!!

Oh dear, so the wheels may be problematic in the snow. Thatís a bummer..I will need to walk then!! Donít want to prang the wheels. I must invest in a set of winter wheels/tyres

I do recall the previous Qashqai being really quite good in the snow..

See ya!

Hi Fee - welcome home .

We rarely get snow down here (tempting fate there).

However, got some this time last year and car was fine.

Aww, Hiya G!

Thatís good to know, the Juke handled really well in the snow... Itís the biggest issue for me at the mo as I just hate driving in the snow and need to use the car for work...
I have a dog now so need more room in the boot. Heíll be well cheesed off as heís used to sitting in the back seat all strapped in. Slumming it in the boot now...
One more sleep...

Surprisingly not... but that pic is definitely my sister in law who hangs her washing out daily in All weathers!
Hate driving in the snow after a near miss when a lorry skidded a few years ago..

Picked up car today.. I just love it.

Thanks... I might have a look at that option...

Not sure what selections are available for 19 inch tyres.. might need a full set of wheels too

Not all winter tyres come in larger sizes, on one of my other cars I had to down grade the wheels from 21 to 16!

I think the problems I had with my Tekna were down to the tread pattern. Most 19" tyres to fit a Qashqai have circumferential bands on the tyres - including the Dunlop Sport Maxx which I had fitted (which were otherwise fine). I'm sure it's those that lead to poor snow performance:

I ran my preceding Fabias on Toyo Proxes which had a completely different tread pattern and these seemed fine in snow:
