Dear all,

My daughter wants a Qashqai - we have ~£6 to spend and she really wants the pan roof and, ideally, a diesel.  Can you suggest the best one to go for ?

Thanks in advance

Graeme

Thank you for your accurate assessment G5 BOY - I'm sure I put a k on the end of the £6 - it must have fallen off !

Thought so Geek.

Whoever you ask here will advise you to buy their spec (me included).  You will be aiming for an early one, so just go for the best condition and best looked after / regularly serviced / highest spec you can for your budget would be my advice - bit general I'm afraid.

If you have any specific questions/concerns or are looking at a particular car and need to know anything, feel free to ask here.  Pay scant attention to a lot of the negative stuff you read online - it's a great, reliable, comfy, top-selling piece of kit, designed, engineered and built in England - and which other manufacturer/model can boast that?  Answers on a postcard to PR07HET please Wink.

You can tell I'm a fan - I'm on number 5...!!

Meanwhile, remember - whatever you get, it's still a Qashqai Tongue.

Happy hunting.

That's a pretty low budget to be honest.

Check out Autotrader and see what sort of car you can get for that sort of money.

561 diesels under £6000 - but no Mark 2 versions.

Thanks for the replies.  I looked at a 2011 N-Tec yesterday in the dark (not a good time to look at a car, I know), I turned on the lights but the steering wheel controls didn't light up - is this correct or is there a problem (clock spring) ?

Thank you for the replies - one with, one without.  I'll try all the ones I test drive and report back.

I have now looked at 4 QQs - all J10 facelifts, 3 were 1.5 nTecs and the fourth, a 1.6 Tekna - all of them had illuminated steering wheel buttons which came on with the ignition.

I liked the 1.6 Tekna so much, I bought it !  It has 4WD and all the toys (which seem to work)
