Strange problem with Qashqai not starting.

Used the vehicle all day yesterday without any issues, the stopped in front of the garage and 5 minutes later wanted to park the car in the garage. But it just won't start. Engine is not turning over.

The dashboard lights come up, but flashes randomly, the Speedometer's needle is ticking and it sounds like the central locking is also constantly ticking. Couldn't even lock the vehicle without putting the key in the lock. The clock has reset to 12:00 too.

It must be some sort of electrical problem or battery. Not sure how the battery can die suddenly like that.
I'm taking the battery to be tested this morning, but has anyone experienced something like this before?

Here's a video of what is happening -

Thanks for the warm welcome.

I've just come back from the battery centre, it needed replacing. It's installed now and working like a charm.

My worry is, how do I really know whether the battery was faulty or that the alternator is on it''s way out.

I guess I'll soon find out.
