Good morning all

Battery in my car is starting to struggle on Realy cold mornings , will swap out the battery no probs myself but have read it needs calibrating / registering to the car is this right ?

Halfords show an efb battery but kwikfit show agm
So bit stuck on what to get , the nissan one doesn't say what it is

I think I have read that my own 2013 1.6 dci will nead a new AGM battery sooner or later. Some fitters will do a recalibration I gather. Let us know how it goes please...

Worrying that kwikfit said they would put in a AGM battery and had never heard of any calibration or the likes ..... glad I done my own research as from what I've read you can't just swap types.

Kwikfit wanted to put in a AGM battery ....... Nope wrong type

Eurocarparts list a lion efb battery perfect ........ Nope as it's 50mm longer than the factory battery so wouldn't fit in the tray

So got the std battery direct from yuasa, well kind of via amazon It arrived today hopefully get time to fit it tomorrow

I checked my own original battery, and it is 75Ah Stop - start, and yes EFB. On various sites, I was told, for my QQ without however checking exact sizes, that I should buy an AGM. Lots of wiggle room around obviously. Cross that bridge when I come to it...

Who Told you to buy AGM ? Kwikfit told me they would fit an AGM so when I questioned if they would tell the car / recalibrate for different battery type the had no idea what I ment they said putting in an AGM would be fine don't worry about it

Every battery manufacturer I've seen said it's a big no no unless it was reprogrammed with some computer software yet places seem happy to throw in a AGM battery and send you on your way, don't know if they are hoping the battery fails again after you trade the car in or the likes

For info the "standard" cost is given here - https://www.nissan.co.uk/ownership/nissan-services/service-care-repair.html

BATTERY (STANDARD) ú90.00
BATTERY (STOP-START) ú120.00

That said the garage I used charged more than Nissan's "Fixed Price" service costs so well might be higher for batteries.
