New 68 plate with adblue, warning fault light displays. Added adblue as per instructions, but then the engine management light came on. This resulted in the car being in the dealership for 4 days, software bugs being ironed out and the software being reloaded from scratch. Car back, and after two days so is the error. Has anyone else experienced this yet?

First time we've seen a thread on this issue, as it's obviously only recently become an item (unfortunately) on diesel QQ's.

I'm the guy from the other forum.
Yes we had the same problem 1.5 tekna+. Picked up car, approx 150mile later ad blue fault showed, added the stuff to the tank (only took a litre as it was full already) and then engine check light came on. Car went into dealership to get new part fitted, 3 weeks later (as the dealer couldn't order the part due to the system being so new and hence no part numbers or stock) we get the car back only for the exact same fault to occur approx 150 mile later. We took delivery of the car 11th September and drove it for 4 days in total and its been in the dealership since. We have rejected the car which Nissan have accepted and we should hopefully get a refund (minus registration fee and road fund licence) this week. Annoyingly this is our 3rd QQ and all the others have been bomb proof with only a couple of very minor niggles. At the weekend we bought a brand new pre registered QQ, 1.5 Tekna+ on a 18 plate, (our 4th QQ) which only has 6 miles on the clock but the big advantage is it has the 1.5/110 engine pre adblue, the same as our other car and the car we originally ordered / wanted I think its fair to say Nissan have rushed to the market with the tweaks forced on them by the new TVLM rules and hence not fully tested the ad blue bolt on as the dealership told me they are seeing more cars come in with ad blue faults. My advice is to reject the car (if your still within the 30days) and find yourself a pre september QQ that has the older engine in, or wait 6 months and let Nissan sort all the problems before buying a newer style one. The engine fitted to ours had the serial number 1.....the very first off the line.....boy if I'd of known that before delivery ! I know theres a new 1.7DCI engine coming out in the spring (1.6DCI no longer in production) but again this will be a new engine and will have teething problems so best wait 6 months and let Nissan iron those out before taking the plunge. Good luck dealing with Nissan corporate, they are a bunch of......... ! Edited by Alfordnewb - 31 Oct 2018 at 5:45pm |

Thanks for the update. We have now got the car back after they replaced the adblue tank and sensor. Our experience of Nissan directly wasnt to bad. They sorted a hire car swiftly , although getting updates from the dealer was a nightmare. Were only about 50 miles in since the repair so will see in the next few days if the problems reoccurs.

We picked our 2018 Nissan QQ Accenta Premium up on November 9th 2018. Friday November 16th is when the 'Adblue Fault Range 530 Miles' error popped up, followed by the ECM light about 20 minutes later.
Went back to Nissan Dealership on the 16th. We collected it back Friday, December 21st. Have driven it around 100 miles since Friday and this evening the error is back. Nissan have had it back for 5 weeks only for it to throw the same errors! We were told it was a software update they were waiting for but clearly it hasn't fixed the problem. I guess it now goes back to Nissan once Christmas is out of the way....we don't want the QQ anymore, this is our 3rd and as above, only mi or issues with the previous 2 but this is ridiculous now... |
