Did the dealership you buy it from keep the log book (V5) on the premises? Did you get to see it the first time you looked at the car?
Patiently waiting to pick up my 09 plate 1.5dCi n-tec in intense blue....it'll hopefully be sometime in the near future if the dealership ive brought it from sort themselves out :@

It could have had a private plate on it and it's still with the DVLA, Just ask them, (and see my other post)

There have been no private plates on it according to the dealership and vehicle check thingy-majig that I carried out!

6th March - On the day we went to look at the car we were told by the manager that the V5 was in a holding account
12th March - Another bloke told me (the day before I was due to pick the car up) that the wrong V5 had been sent from the DVLA
13th March - The bloke he sold me the car said that Nissan had the log book

So who knows who actually has the V5 for it

Who are you getting the car from? They sound like a load of %^^&&&'s. I do hope it was not Bishops of Guildford, I am relying on them.

Doesn't surprise me - my last car (Saab convertible) was bought new with my private plate transfered and I was sent 4 V5s, each one wrong for different reasons and each one sent back with a Angry letter from me.

We pay for first registration but it is our responsibility to check the details are correct Angry.

At one stage it was described as a 'Ford Mondeo Convertible' Wacko which obviously slipped through and stuck somewhere because............

  1. when I traded the Saab for my QQ - the Saab came up on the dealer PC as 'Ford Mondeo Convertible'
  2. when I tried the text vehicle check service for my QQ - it came up on my phone as 'Ford Mondeo Convertible'
  3. when I enquired about trading my QQ for the QQ+2 - the QQ came up on the dealer PC as 'Ford Mondeo Convertible'
