I have decided to change cam belt . Nissan recommend to change every 5years. Car passed threshold back in Nov 2016. Current mileage on clock 45000 miles.

I haven't ask around for quote yet. I am prepare to test private independent garages especially, Mr Clutch base on positive online reviews. I need a guide price to start shopping around.

I also intend to supply genuine Nissan parts for independent garages if possible.

The quotes therefore will be 1-Cost of parts supply and fitted VAT inclusive; 2-Cost of fittings alone VAT inclusive.

Can anyone who has experience or idea about the current going price for Cam belt change which usually includes water pump and coolant change as well chip in their advice.

Any advice will be appreciated.

I wish you all a fruitful new yearClap

Why don't you just ask a selection of local dealers/mechanics to quote for a cam belt change?
The benchmark is a main Nissan franchise which generally quotes big numbers.
PS - I own a petrol 1.6 which has a timing chain so unable to advise on belt changes. Thumbs Up

Thanks for your input. Because of the holidays most preferred garages closed early today. Mr Clutch quoted £395 (Labour).
I will be asking around next year.

My gut feeling is to change the belt next year definitely even though car drives superb without any problem.

Update:
All fitted. Didn't need that much of coolant 10litres because the mechanic just topped up. Now left with 8litres for future DIY coolant renew.

#Cambelt Kit(16806-00QBB) £78.39
#Water pump(2101000Q0M) £40.20
#Alternator belt(11720-00Q1W) £11.75
#coolant premix L248(KE90299945) £39.00
#Labour £244.34
#Total cost £414.34
#Total savings of £231.00

Mechanic at MR Clutch was a former Renault employee. Let see how good the job is when I use it for 200miles round trip.
