Can someone tell me I have just bought a 2016 Quasaqai Tekna I cannot find out how to lock the doors when travelling and whether it is safe to do so. Can One open them from the inside once locked. I am off to Spain in 35 minutes so need a quickie answer,

                Cheers

Hi

On your driver's armrest, in front and to the right of where the window switches are, there is a switch with a padlock on it.

Press down to lock all doors (you will hear them click).  Unlocks automatically when you open a door.

Depending what car you have locking can be automatic. I seem to remember that if you hold the padlock switch down till you hear a beep, think it takes about ten seconds, then the doors will lock automatically just after you pull away. Unlocks when you open doors.

You can get a plug in module to reintroduce that feature.
EU legislation is reason it was done away with; in this dangerous
world it's a really useful feature.

Probably reckoned to be worse on average, as in after an accident. Easy enough to press the button.

When you're unconscious, you can't press any buttons.

Besides, in case of an accident, the doors oughta unlock automatically.

However, somebody had the idea, that it can't be guaranteed in ANY circumstances, that the electric cable to the door locks will NOT be damaged. And no electricity, no unlocking of the doors....
