Hi... When I turn the ignition on and the mirrors open, the drivers side mirror judders as it opens - this is a new thing... it has never done this before. Has anyone had this problem/know what it is please? Is the mirror likely to be on the way out?

Pleased to hear

Rob

Hi.. It's a 2009 car (09 plate) Acenta 1.5DCi with a shade over 50K miles. It has had a mirror closer kit fitted about 6 months ago, bought from our sponsor above.

Might need lubricating.... PTFE spray. Maybe the casing has trapped/ squashed a wire .

Thanks for that...   Would the mirror need to be dismantled to check? If so, grateful for any pointers how to go about it...

Hi G5 boy...   Wouldn't be their problem, in truth.... Fitted the kit months ago and it's been faultless. Also it's only the one mirror, all of which points to the mirror being at issue, not a dodgy connection in the mirror kit.

If you use the switch for open / close do you still get the same problem?

HI... Thanks for replies, all.   To answer Pennine 15 yes, same problem if I used the switch and no issues at all with the passenger side mirror.    However some progress...   Daily squirting with WD40 seems to have eased the problem and it's hardly juddering at all now. Will keep up the use of WD40 and hope for the best! Once again many thanks for replies.

Did this finally get sorted, is it now smooth? I have this issue with both my mirrors on a 2012 Qashqai...

Use a lubricant ... Qashqai driven for about 50,000 miles now, mirrors fold at least twice a day with no problems whatsoever...
