Wife just took delivery of her new 68 plate 1.5 tekna plus today and Nissan has updated the front end again.

I bought mine back in March on an 18 plate but when parked next to each other there is a new grill and badge design, the 1.5 diesel now has 115hp and they've added adblue to the engine now.....

I guess this is all in line with the new emission testing that Nissan was forced to do and had us waiting nearly 4 months for the car due to stopping production of the old 1.5dci until they ironed out the problems.

Small tweaks, but facelifted again from Sept 2018 onwards....well on the diesel model anyway.

We are now Mr & Mrs Qashqai, both Tekna+ one in electric blue, the other nightshade.

If anyone is interested in the 19" wheels send me a message, removed them off the vehicle within an hour of being delivered and swapped them for the 17" wheels...not my cup of tea so brand new wheels / tyres that have covered a whopping 6 miles :)

Hiya

Just looked online and yes - can see what you mean.

Maybe post a pic of the 2 so we nerds can play 'spot the difference' Geek.

Still struggling to find any visual differences

Emissions have gone up from 99g/km to "100 - 110 g/km"

Other engines appear to be the same so far

There's a new trim level called "Acenta Premium" - that's showing with a different badge and grille

Maybe the other images in the brochure are just carried over but this is a new one showing the new grille design applied across the range?

There have been minor revisions to other trim levels involving Safety Shield +, the Panoramic roof, ProPILOT and, interestingly, the Tekna+ can no longer be optioned with 18" wheels! (I didn't know it could)

The PILOT ONE EDITION is no more...

Check out the downloadable brochure for details.

In fact the new brochure makes no mention of ProPILOT at all !!!!!

Has it been withdrawn?

In the April 2018 brochure the PILOT ONE EDITION has the "new" grille too...

Old grille:

Whilst power for the 1.5 diesel is up 5bhp, acceleration to 62 is also up 0.4 seconds, top speed down 1mph and consumption altered. Weights including towing weight have also altered.

The 1.5 diesel is now showing as Euro 6d-temp - all other engines remain as Euro 6b

Curiously whilst the Visia 1.5 has INCREASED in price, the other trim levels have all DECREASED in price - the Tekna+ by a lot! (>ú800)

Sadly you are correct, I couldn't spec the new car with 18" wheels as that was no longer an option. I was told it was again down to emissions but that is BS as you can get lower spec models with 18 or even 17" wheels.

Personally I'd opt for 17" any day of the week, much smoother ride and cheaper to replace the tyres with plus there's a lot more tyre choice, the 19" wheels are too big with rubber band tyres IMO but taste is subjective so each to their own.

That's no BS... just the fact that this specific model with 18" wheels wasn't tested to the new WLTP specs....

what an absolute pile of poop.

The ad blue warning light has come on that means the car has to be returned to the dealership to be fixed.....less than 200 miles on the clock and the cars being returned to be fixed already

I really hope this is not a sign of things to come, the previous QQ's have been absolutely faultless but it looks like Nissan have rushed to get this engine tweak to market and hence there's issues.  !

Just a thought.
Could be the light has come on to warn you that the Ad Blue is low and needs topping up.

Sadly not, adblue is overflowing full.
Handbook says it has to be taken to the dealership, so need to drive it there (35 miles away) with check engine light illuminated

Update.

Car is no longer drivable. The dealership has it and they cannot tell me when it will be repaired as the parts needed to fix the adblue system are so new they cannot be presently ordered.

Nissan have arranged for a hire car in the interim but we are trying to reject the car as not fit for purpose.

A word of caution for any would be 'new' diesel owners...

Watch this space for regular updates....it could be a long journey !

Annoyingly the QQ we traded for this (64 plate Tekna) did over 60k without issue or hiccup, the present 2018 QQ tekna+ has over 14,000 miles on again without issue or hiccup....couldn't even manage 200 with the latest one !

Update.
We got a call at the weekend to say the car was finally repaired and ready for collection (just shy of 3 weeks since the car was first taken to the dealership)

Collected the car and life was good again, until yesterday morning, exact same fault / failure with the adblue system at pretty much the same mileage - 180-200 miles .

The car has been rejected and Nissan are in the process of replacing the car (2-3 weeks)

I'm hoping we have just been exceptionally unlucky with this vehicle

I'm hoping the replacement car will be OK as there is little to no chatter on the internet about others experiencing the same issues, but there is a nagging doubt in the back of my mind that Nissan have not fully tested the addition of adblue onto the diesel power plant

Its annoying that we've spent all this money and a month after taking delivery of the new vehicle we've managed to drive it a grand total of 4 days / <500 miles

Watch this space for further updates.
