Hi All. As a newbie this is my first post and my questions is about headlight replacement bulbs. I have a 2014 1.5 diesel model and want to replace both dipped and main beam bulbs with Osram night breaker but I have been told by Nissan this bulb is not suitable because of extra heat generated, I have also been told by the garage that will fit them I have to sign a disclaimer. Has anyone on here come across this before?

A disclaimer for what, it's a 2014 vehicle so out of warranty. I fitted Osrams and the equivalent Phillips ones too on my 2009 and had no issues at all.

Thanks for replies. Because Nissan have said the bulbs produce extra heat that may affect the lenses the garage asks for a disclaimer.
I did ask the question yesterday but still finding my way around the site.

IMHO all bulbs which are sold for headlights ought to fit in each and every car. First time I hear, that a bulb produces too much heat....

The heat the headlight produces is directly proportional to its wattage. You are replacing a standard bulb with an equivalent wattage high-performance bulb. They're both 55W. No problem...

Also they're easy enough to fit yourself...

EDIT - check out https://www.powerbulbs.com/blog/2018/06/do-upgrade-car-bulbs-generate-more-heat

Incorrect - it's a common problem if you replace a standard 55W bulb with a high performance 100W "off road" one e.g. this one

There are also then issues with the increased current heating and possibly melting the wiring...

The disclaimer is from the garage fitting the new bulbs to obviate comeback... The warranty is irrelevant - and in any case it may still be under extended warranty.
