Had my QQ 3 months now and no problems with the key, until last week when I got an incorrect key ID message when pressing the start engine button.   Simply tried again and it worked.

Then on Sunday I couldn't lock/unlock the car via the door handle button with the key in my pocket, had to get it out and press the unlock button on the fob.    This started working again later on Sunday and has worked since.

And yesterday at the petrol station I got the incorrect key ID message again but this time with the little picture telling me to hold the key up to the start button, which I did and it started.

Other than that, it's working fine.  The fob buttons work from long distance, and there is supposed to be a low battery warning on the dash screen if the battery is getting low, ruling out a battery issue.

Might try switching to the other key instead, if I can remember where I put it!

Your key fob battery is low, needs replacing, the battery that is.

If that was the case, wouldn't I have been seeing this on the dash...

5. [Key battery low] indicator
This indicator appears when the Intelligent Key battery
is running out of power.
If this indicator appears, replace the battery with a
new one. (See “Integrated keyfob/Intelligent Key
battery replacement” in the “8. Maintenance and
do-it-yourself” section.)

Sometimes mine goes out of sync...and like you sometimes it's ok and others it has funny moments...

I have read somewhere about the Qq having battery issues ( main car battery under the hood)
Nissan have been replacing them...might be worth getting it checked over...

I'll be doing mine when I get a moment

Haven't had the issue with the key fob at all apart from those couple of days a few weeks back, maybe it was just atmospheric disturbance, solar flares, who knows!   Got a new battery for the fob but haven't put it in yet as it seems fine again.
