Due to replace all 4 tyres on my QQ 1.5 Tekna

Whats the current recommendations on what to replace with

Currently they are Conti Eco Contact 5  215/60/R17

Should I replace with exactly the same, different Conti, other brand etc

Thoughts appreciated

I bought Conti's last time I bought a pair of new tyres. I only do about 9,000mi a year, so tyres aren't such a big cost for me, but the Contis do only seem to last about 22,000 as front tyres on my 2L QQ+2.

I put the new tyres on the back and have the still good back tyres moved to the front, which means I'll get four years use out of each pair. I'd rather wear them out than have to replace part worn tyres due to age!

If I were doing more miles, I'd be looking at different brands with better longevity or better price; I paid about ú240 for a pair.

Need 2 front tyres, first time in a few years because my last QQ had new tyres when I bought it and didn't need new ones before I sold it, had this one 18 months, its getting on for 3-4 years since I last had to get some.

There were only really the Contis to choose from last time, but I'm surprised at the choice now, at least 15 different tyres, most I've never heard of, but there are Michelin, Pirelli, Dunlop, Bridgestone... all get better fuel/grip ratings than the Contis.

Any recommendations?

When you omit the tyres of the brands you never heard of, you can't do wrong....

When I put my reg in at blackcircles, it doesn't give me the usual Contis etc as it defaults to speed rating W.  (215/55/18/W).   I have to change it to V to get the usual list.  Is there that much of a difference between V and W?

Choices of the main brands, in ascending price, are:

Bridgestone Turanza T005 (B/A/72) - ú128
Pirelli Scorpion Verde (C/B/71) - ú129
Dunlop Sport Maxx RT 2 SUV   (C/A/70)  - ú137
Michelin Primacy 3 (B/A/69) - ú141
Continental Contact 2 (C/C/72) - ú143

where X/Y/Z is fuel rating, wet grip rating, noise dB.

Looking at that, seems the Bridgestones and Michelins win on the ratings with B fuel and A wet grip.

The Turanza T005 (new model from January 2018) came 2nd in this years Auto Bild tests...

Looks like that could be the one I may go for, considering it's cheaper than the others too.

Initial impressions are very good. A noticeably smoother ride than the Conti 2's they replaced.
