Hi,

Trying to help my Dad out with his Qashqai. We just had the Nissan MP3 player kit fitted in his car for his b-day but we cant figure out how to use it and i wasnt there when it was fitted.

They have installed a box in the glove box that i have plugged his mp3 player into via 3.5mm jack and theres a new switch on his dashboard but it doesnt seem to do anything.

Anybody have any idea how its meant to work?

Flicking the switch replaces the AM radio with a hissing noise but nothing comes out music wise?

Thanks in advance.

can you not ring the company that fitted it ???

sounds like its switching to aux but not recognising your mp3 ,if the lead your using is ok then it must be a problem with the kit they installed so would contact them and ask them to sort it

sounds like you need to try tuning on FM with the switch on and mp3 player playing.

yes you are quite right guys.

Set your mp3 player to play and flick your switch on dash to switch the fm sender unit on.

Then scan/search the fm freq band on your stereo until you find the audio from the player and save the freq for future use.

Its usually around the top part of fm band 87/88 mhz.

Hope this helps.

Yes could be an  AM sender unit too ,one i have though works on FM 87.5mhz But a quick scan through both with the switch in on position and your mp3 playing should be easy to locate.

I had one of these fitted from new (genuine QQ crap accessory part number KE28699900), it's a clarion FM transmitter. You should have had a book with it that shows the FM freqs. Does your 3.5mm jack socket have the phono connectors as well? If so it'll be the same unit. The listed Freqs are: 88.3, 88.5, 88.7, 88.9, 107.3, 107.5, 107.7 & 107.9. You need to connet the MP3 player, flick the rocker switch on (I) then tune the radio to one of the freqs. I always use 107.9 and have stored it on the FM radio preset 6.
If you need a copy of the manual let me know your email address (PM me) and I'll send it over as soon as I can.
