I have just purchased my second
Qashgai a 2010 1.5 pro dive diesel Acenta. It has a buzzing noise which you can hear inside the cabin. This is only when the car is ticking over. the dealer says this is a valve which returns unused fuel to the tank. They say lots of Qashqai's suffer from this which cannot be fixed but is does not affect the performance of the car. Anyone else noticed this?

Alternatively, I had a "noise" yesterday on tick-over only and it was the bonnet!. You can test this by standing next to it whilst running on tick-over and pressing down on the bonnet. If the buzzing noise stops then you've found the culprit. If not, you haven't.

(if you have its a simple fix, 3 bolts hold the bonnet latch in place, undo all 3, adjust the position of the latch (mine needed to be moved down by about 2mm) and redo).

i get this in my 1.5dci...

although mine is more a pulsing noise....i find it stops if I squeeze the manual primer pump for the fuel filter.....its like a small rugby ball with a hose at each end....I think squeezing this increases the pressure slightly on the valve and stops it from pulsing....

Yep mine does it too, guess they all do it, it all depends on how good your hearing is as to how much it bothers you.

A squeeze of the primer fixes it
