Ok, despite being told my suspension bushes were completely fine despite the grinding and squeaking .. they need replacing ... to add to this front and rear discs and pads need changing before next MOT ... just called to find out the costs (which I got them to double check) ..
Front £239 Rear £299 thats for parts and labour ... haven't had a price for the bushes yet as they said they would give a price when fitting ????? Anybody know of a better option or if these prices are correct ? |

I would also like to know the dimensions of the discs to scope out aftermarket/higher quality discs and pads .. if anybody has those figures for a 2010 facelift ntec diesel 2.0 model

I sourced my discs (pagid) from halfords,I got the front and rear discs and front and rear pads (my handbrake shoe's were fine) for a shade under £200 including a tube of copper slip.then spent a gentle weekend fitting them and painting the calipers with hammerite smooth black
Anyway,I am sure the halfords disc finder shows the diameter and width of the discs,I know they were vented front and old rears. Cue picture of my rear disc while I was fitting them. ![]() Edited by bryan3 - 07 Mar 2016 at 2:16pm |

have been looking at the EBC discs and pads but would have to have Nissan fit them. Don't really know what to do about the bushes though. I would rather get some good quality poly bushes but don't exactly know what I need ..

As your car is out of nissan warranty and brakes and bushes would be wear and tear items anyway, for the brakes I would go to a recommended independent garage and take advice on which brand they recommend, their labour rate should under cut nissans big time
Which will allow you to put more in the pot for the bushes,by all means get a quote from nissan (ask them to specify which bushes with part numbers ideally) Then see who else does the bushes. |

hard in my area .. have experiences i would rather forget. The local Nissan dealership I have found to be better than average so have stuck with them. But they don't seem interested with the bushes. i think I would rather drive half a day to get specialist advice and service ..

Hi, Nissan prefer to fit the complete lower wishbone arms, Less problems and ball joint is replaced at the same time. You will get a pair on eBay for around £60 - £70, plus you have the years warranty on the parts, or try a local after market outlet. Job easier to do and less down time. Tommy

I have had ball joint replaced twice on one side already due to Nissan poor installation. Long story which I'm not going to repeat .. I'm just not keen on having them play with the car again. Am contemplating going up to Demon Tweaks and getting new upgraded brake discs and pads and getting them to replace bushes as needed or at least give me some idea of where the bushes are failing ...

just a quick update .. I've got the car booked in for new discs and pads (with a huge increase in quality and at 2/3 the price). If I went by our nearest Nissan service centre I would be saving almost half the cost. I am having them look at all bushes and joints to see what is causing the squeak .. I will report back as to what was found and total cost ... admin am I allowed to say workshops name here ...
