Just a quick one...

Would a straight replacement of the DPF fix this code?
Have Engine Management Light on, occasionally dpf light comes on with code P1436 but that clears with ELM327 reader. P1435 stays.

Have a new DPF lined up at a good price to fit myself, but want to know how likely that is to fix the code before I pay out?

Got 5 days until the MOT expires so hoping to get it sorted fast

MOT has expired... now have an expensive garden ornament.

Happy to fit new DPF myself but if it's not going to clear the code I don't want to waste my time.

Someone, anyone please advise.

The code will not be fixed by just replacing the DPF... the error code has to be reset by a Nissan Consult ECU Diagnostic Interface - or some gadget that works like one.
However, you don't need a brand new DPF, there are firms specialised on cleaning the DPF "outside" the car/the exhaust. It's cheaper than buying a new DPF....

Ive been quoted £180 for cleaning but can buy new dpf for £115 and fit it myself.

I've been reading about Nissan Data Scan, wondering if that might do the job? seems to be about £15 for the cable and £30 for the software.

Nissan garage quotes £60 for the diagnostic and another £50 for DPF data clear if have DPF changed by anyone other than them, but if they do it its all rolled into their £800 fee lol.

When you know what you're doing - fine. But £115 for a new DPF would set my alarm bells ringing.

(I don't know where that thing comes from at that price. But when you know it and are comfortable with it, well, fine...)

When I was told earlier this year that my 2013 J10 360 needed a replacement DPF the price quoted by my local Nissan dealer was £1652.61, so I would be extremely suspicious of one at that price. Good luck.

It appears they stack the pricing rather than pricing it as a complete job the dealer part direct from nissan is £340, the diagnostic and dpf data clear is £110 then £350 Labour. BM Catalysts provide the DPFs for £115, I personally would expect to pay 30-50% less for a pattern part over main dealer parts so seems a fair price.

On the plus side I can get the MIL to go off for one drive cycle so plan is to fail the MOT then, provided emissions pass, turn light out after then wave them out for my free partial retest, which should pass just by showing the MIL is off.

That's the theory anyway
