aha, thanks Corals.
Is it the same button as moving the mirrors themselves? do i press it differently to fold them in rather than just adjusting the mirror?

Was the car supplied with a manual mate? You should have two of them, one for the Connect system and another for the car - in the car manual it fully explains how to operate the mirrors ![]() |

Norfolkcol - its a 3 position rocker.................1 and 3 for open/shut, 2 for off. What the manual doesn't tell you is that if you 'shut/off igntion/open', then when you next start up they open automatically and you look cool

... and what the manual also doesn't tell you is that if you manually fold the mirror(s) closed AFTER you've exited the car then you don't have to un-fold them. They will automatically un-fold once th e ignition is switched on. Even cooler! |

I was reading on one of the other forums maybe the Dutch or french one, but someone has designed a patch to make the mirrors fold on locking and unfold on unlocking the car... must try and re-locate that guy.

I'll report back when I receive a reply.

Do one better once you folded them in and turned engine off swith the rocker switch back to unfold and as soon as you put key in ignition they unfold themselves ( i always use that method) so fold in when parked and then engine off put switch back to unfold then hey presto magic ![]() |

I've received a reply from my dealer as follows:
Hi Allan
It seems this kit has not been released for the UK and there are not plans for us to have it in the near future. (we have spoken to nissan)
I dont think this is a genuine nissan part but we have sent the website to nissan UK and are hoping they might come back with an option for us.
Ill get back in touch when they respond.
Regards
Louise

Hi Allan, I'm new to this site and to my QQ (just over 1 month). The question you asked your dealer, is it referring to this kit http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280548561210&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT If not, is there another kit? If yes, what is the news from the dealer - if any? @ ALL - has anyone installed the auto-fold wing mirror kit? Cheers Jon |

Hi Jon, the kit I referred to my dealer was from the French Nissan website:
The news from my dealer was that were no plans to release this kit in the UK at the present time.

maybe if we club together and do a "bulk" buy they would consider shipping to a single address, then that person could post on the others.
i would be willing to try to sort it out if enough people are interested. i'll start the list. andy. 1. AndyBlac |

i thought that his worked like the ebay version, ie folds when you power on/off using the ignition. this version does it when locking/unlocking the doors, way better imo, but then it is also down to cost between both as well. |

I agree; you need to see in the mirror before exiting the vehicle safely.
Folding on locking is much better.

Folding in on locking is great and safer indeed but folding out on unlocking is no good.
Opening on activating the contact is better. When shopping and putting bags in the car multiple times it is not very convenient when the mirrors fold in and out all the time. There are also situations where you want the mirrors to stay folded in (e.g. tight parking spaces or a garage).
I use a genuine Nissan module which works the way I mentioned above. Got it thru a friend from Japan. It has connectors that make it fit in between the wiring loom and the mirror switch and 3 additional wires for 12V, GND and a trigger.
Took me some time to figure out the wiring inside the connecters (JDM Dualis wiring is different) and where to attach the trigger wire but it can be attached to an output on the black box, a vehicle alarm that has an AUX output option (not sure if the factory fitted Nissan units have this as it is only available in the UK) or behind the anti-hijack relay attached to the fuse box below the steering wheel. The last one is the easiest to reach BUT the anti-hijack option interferes with the triggering of the mirrors (will close when used and driving off). This can be solved with a relay patch (ACC ON used as a trigger to open the relay).
It may be possible to get these mirror modules somewhere...
Worth a try, anyway. The Nissan JDM product code is B5570-89940
Looks like this:

Excuse my complete ignorance, but do these kits work on ordinary non-folding mirrors. i.e. can they bit fitted to a Visia?

No, because this is just making the switch wiring operate with the door lock or ignition.
You will not have the switch nor the electric motors to power the mirrors installed on manually folding mirrors.
