Hi All,

I purchased an extended 3 year warranty for my 2013 Quasqai so i have been following the usual alternate Minor / Major service plan.  Next year the car won't be in warranty - out of interest what does everyone do for servicing beyond 6 years?   I think the main dealer is too expensive so will take somewhere else but do you still try and follow the major / minor service plan or just do the basics?

Thanks

For my 2011 Qashqai I still follow the service plan and have it done at my local Nissan dealer's ...

Sensibly you would do exactly what the service book states. Some things are time related, some are mileage related. Usually alternating minor/major would be expected depending on mileage.

Some Nissan garages do cheaper servicing for older cars. The one I used to use not surprisingly doesn't (they even exceed the prices advertised on their website!) but this one does for instance:

You may be offered additional warranty.  Mine had an additional 2 years after the original 3 which comes to an end in March, but I've just received a letter offering me another year.

Considering I got a new engine out of it last summer, I think I'll go for it.

You'd be lucky at my garage even to be offered an additional warranty. Even at three years old it took three visits over a month to get a price out of them - and then it was much higher than anyone else on here was quoting - hence I sold it...

My dealership offers free RAC UK/European breakdown with the annual service which helps to mitigate the cost.

Mine came direct from Nissan, and it's a nissan.co.uk link I need to go to renew.

I think it's 399 for 1 year.   I don't think that's too bad to extend the proper Nissan warranty for the 6th year, especially as I'm suspecting a few things are "needing sorting" soon.

Did you look at the small print, what is covered by the extended warranty? Usually, they cover a lot less than the original warranty.

It's the same Nissan Cared4 warranty I've had for the 4th and 5th year, just extending it into a 6th.

After having the engine replaced last summer and seeing the bill would have been 8500, not sure I want to risk this car not being under warranty!

We live in North Wales so we do not have a Nissan dealership, non in mid Wales either.
Nissan website says nearest dealership is just over the River Dee estuary ,but no bridge.
It's why I see very few new Nissan in an area they had always sold well.
They are the only make not covered by a North Wales dealership that I can think off.
