flashing airbag sensor light. Here is how to reset it yourself.

1. Turn the key from off to on.

2. Watch the airbag light closely. It will stay on for a few secs. and then as soon as it blinks off (the start of the flashing), turn the key off instantly.

3. Count to 5 (1 Mississippi, 2 Mississippi . . . .)

4. Repeat steps 1-3 two more times until you have done the cycle three times.

5. Now turn the key on and watch the light. It will start blinking in a different, slower manner. This is diagnostic mode. You can watch this for a little while, no hurry.

6. Now turn the key off again, Count to 5 like in step 3 again, and turn back on. If the procedure worked, the airbag light will not be flashing.

Hope this helps. mick74

if you turn the ignition on before you reconnected the airbag plug this is what happens , but easily sorted

Hi all

Having disconnected my battery, a few times to wire my LED lights, I now have this problem.

This looks like exactly the tip I need, Mick74. However, maybe I'm doing somthing stupid, but I cannot get it to work. I have had 3 goes.

So, perhaps you could clarify:

Should I be turning the ignition on just until the dash lights all start up without starting the engine?

Should I then be turning off just until the lights go out or ALL the way, pushing the button in to turn the ignition completely off as if I were leaving the car?

I only ask because witout having to physically put in a key, it's a little confusing!

As, I said it tried it but never got the slow, diagnostic flashing Angry

Cheers for any help!

no need to start the engine...just the dash lights on...when it flashes turn the ignition off..count to 5 then do it again x2 (3 times in total)

if done correctly the airbag light should flash slower( been a while since i did this)
then turn off the ignition then back on again and all should be ok if done right.... i recall i had a few attempts b4 i got this right but it does work..

good luck m8

IT WORKED!!! Tongue

Thanks again Mick.

Because I'm not using an actual car key, I tried it this by doing exactly as you described but NOT turning the ignition off all the way by pressing the small button but turning it off just until all the dash lights go out.

Followed your instructions....and viola! Big smile
