Good morning all
![]() Bit of a strange one , now the mornings are getting cold 7 degrees here I have noticed if I rev my car even stationary after a 5 min warm up I can hear a noise Luke a quiet vacuum cleaner. The noise goes away when the car is warm. The turbo pulls like it should and no extra smoke etc. I'm just wondering if this is like a built in technology to by pass the turbo when starting from cold or a secondary air injection set up etc ? When starting the car on a warm day I don't get it , have heard it a couple of random cold days. The noise isn't a high pitched siren etc more like there is a small quiet vacuum cleaner. |

Car runs great no roughness or increased fuel consumption

Should clarify it's not a sucking sound it's like the motor sound a vacuum makes

Try eliminating some things. When it's doing it, turn off completely the AC and climate systems, that will rule out the compressor motor, the fans, etc.
If the noise does stop, it's something related to that. |

Nah windscreen pump all good , don't have any led headlamps and turning aircon off and fans doesn't change it.
Was just hoping someone would have said they all do it to a degree and it's some kind of noise due to some fancy thermal dynamics type thing to speed up warming the engine Still hoping lol to be fair I wouldn't have even noticed if I hadn't had the stereo off |

Is the noise loud enough to record on a quick video you could post here then we can have a listen?
