anyone had to use the Nissan touch up paint as I have. 2 month old car in nightshade and guess what some prat in a supermarket car park puts a scratch on it.Anyway touch up paint supplied by Nissan being water based just washes of if you use it on the car as per instructions in packet Has anyone any ideas as I have phoned dealer and Nissan customer care and the cant help !!

Was it a 2 pot kit (paint & laquer)?  I bought one for my last Caffe Latte QQ but never had to use it. Id have thought the laquer would have been some sort of sealer that didnt wash off.
2nd QQ ..June 2013 Black +2 360.. After moustaches in Movember, all those beards in Decembeard, I'm not looking forward to Fanuary

yes it was a 2 pot kit and you are correct the laquer is a sealer that does not wash off but after putting on the paint you have to rub it down to prepare the surface for the laquer and that's where problem begins because as the paint is water based it is so soft it just lifts right of

ah right, i see what you mean, I was mainly thinking of little stone chip type things where you'd just do a quick dab of paint then when it dried a dab of laquer rather than a proper repair like a bigger scratch might need. Also I suppose with nightshade being a dark colour it would require proper attention.

I had this problem and took my paint code to Halfords and they mixed some up and put it in a touch up pen for me. Seems to be oil base and covers very well.
