Windscreen washer problem

Hi, got a strange one here. When I try to clean the front windscreen the rear washer and wiper go off for about 10 seconds then they stop and the front washers come on. Its a cheap washer motor that was replaced 3 years ago. could it be the washer motor that's developed a fault or the washer wiper arm and attached electrics to the arm on the dashboard. any help appreciated. Thanks

forgot to say its a 2012 1.6 diesel 4wd
